Uniforms

All students at Whale Branch Early College High School will be required to wear a school-approved uniform.  Students are expected to be dressed according to uniform standards at all times when school is in session.  The Beaufort County School District dress code establishes standards for student attire during the school day. 

Uniform Standards 


Tops:
• Solid colors only: White, Purple, Black, Gray, Yellow Gold. Mock turtlenecks and turtlenecks are acceptable.
• Collared, Plain shirts, or school-approved logos (logo must be smaller than credit card); school spirit shirts are acceptable without a collar.
• No hoodies for safety purpose
• Sweaters/sweatshirts/zip-ups (no hood) in uniform colors
• Jean jackets permitted

Bottoms:
• Solid black or khaki only
• No jeans or denim
• Modest length (fingertip or index card from knee, whichever is longer)
• Belts required for all bottoms with belt loops
• Cargo style pants and skirts are permitted. Dresses, shorts, skirts, skorts, and jumpers must adhere to the length requirement.
• No leggings, jeggings, yoga pants, or sweatpants (unless part of school team uniform)

Shoes:
• Must have backs and be secured
• No flip flops, Crocs, slides, slippers, moccasins
• Laces on shoes or sneakers must be tied

Accessories:
• No earbuds/headphones during school (please refer to the electronics policy)
• No head coverings such as hats, bonnets, scarves, beanies, bandanas, skullies, etc.
• No blankets or non-clear/mesh bookbags
• No chains, spikes, keychains
• No gang-related clothing, accessories, symbols or intimidating items of dress, as identified by local law enforcement

Bookbags:
• Mesh or clear ONLY

*** Students are expected to be dressed according to the uniform policy at all times when school is in session***

School administration will make the final decision on the appropriateness of items.  School administration may also make exceptions to the uniform standards for special occasions such as athletic events, field trips or special dress days.  All students are required to conform to the uniform standards.  Documented religious or medical exceptions will be taken into account.  This policy may be amended at the discretion of the administration.
