State Library Mobile Hot Spots Available
The State Library has a limited number of Kajeet® mobile hot spots available for check out by students. This pilot could assist students who do not otherwise have access to internet to complete remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. These devices are available, free of charge, to the student and school district. If you, or a more appropriate person in your school district, have information on students who do not have internet available and cannot access the various mobile hot spot sites, you may contact Denise Lyons, DLyons@statelibrary.sc.gov. Please remember that the SCDE’s COVID-19 Web page has a map listing sites at which school bus and fixed location internet hot spot access is available for student learning. It also includes a list of free internet access offers currently being made available by service providers. Should you know of other hot spot locations, or other internet offers, please contact me at BCarpentier@ed.sc.gov, so that we can update the list of resources available to your students.

The Beaufort County School District is expanding its free meal distribution system for students during this extended shut-down by adding a pick-up location and also by adding special school bus routes to drop off meals at additional locations across the county.
