Hello My Name Is...

Epifania Taylor

Epifania Taylor

I graduated from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC in 2012. There I received my bachelor’s degree in English literature and minored in biology and political science. After college, I went into the business field as a restaurant manager. When I began teaching in 2014, I took many of the lessons I learned as an employer into the classroom. I manage my classes like a business and focus on structure. I use the retraining strategies I learned as a business manager when behavioral issues occur in my classroom. To expand students’ emotional intelligence, I empower them to reflect on their behavior by using the conflict resolution and behavioral intervention methods I learned during my graduate studies. In 2016, I began the M.Ed. program at Columbia College and in April of 2017, I received my master’s degree in education with a focus on divergent learners. My training focuses on using nontraditional teaching strategies to reach students who are not engaged by traditional methods of instruction.  Aside from my academic studies, I have taken part in many hours of professional development as well as led multiple PD sessions. Currently, I have over 20 hours in technology training which I utilize extensively in my classroom. Along with my dedication in the classroom, I have also taken part in and led multiple extracurricular activities. I staged the first theatrical production ever held at my school, co-sponsored multiple out of state and instate field trips, and I sponsored the newspaper club, a literary journal, a crochet and sewing club, and a yoga and fitness club.
